About Sophie

Hi, I'm Sophie. I'm a Durham University graduate in Religion, Society and Culture and incoming teacher training student at UCL. I am a humanities (English Language, History, Religious Studies), Sociology and Maths tutor specialising in teaching Religious Studies, Sociology and exam technique. I am really excited to continuing to help students reach their full potential through tutoring! I value the importance of finding the right balance between teaching content, exam technique, and best revision practises for each student in order to enable them to maximise their achievement. As a result of this, I specifically design each of my lessons for my students' individual needs. I believe that the work students complete outside of lessons is equally important to what they cover inside lessons so that they continue to make progress and develop their independent learning skills. I therefore set homework at the end of each lesson so that my students consolidate the knowledge they gained from my lesson and can prepare themselves for the next lesson so that they can actively engage with the new material they learn and so I can help them to identify and overcome any weaknesses in their understanding. I pride myself on creating an environment in which students feel comfortable and empowered to answer questions and are curious to learn.

About the lesson

1 hour length online lessons for GCSE and A Level students.

Focus on understanding content relevant to student's exam specification, how to structure and apply knowledge to answer exam questions and how to effectively revise.

Sets homework at the end of every lesson in order to consolidate students' knowledge or allow them to begin to engage with the content we will cover in our next lesson so that they can begin to identify any difficulties they come across.

Experienced tutor that has 10 GCSE grades 8-9.
