About Peter

For starters, I have a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Pune University in India.
I have been lecturing I.T/ Computer at Mbarara University, Jinja Campus in Uganda since 2016 and among the course areas I have been teaching is Introduction to C programming , Introduction to database management using MYSQL, Networks etc.
I am also a web developer , Android developer and desktop applications developer. In web development, I have built websites and I have used MYSQL on the backend to support the front end functionalities of the websites. Since 2016, I have lectured over 200 students and I have passed on these skills. I have currently started a small company called PETPOL research hub and innovations SMC Limited and we focus on both research and I.T innovations. We offer I.T lessons to learners and among the areas I teach is Database Management. Our website for the company is at (concealed information)

About the lesson

My Lessons are online and mode of communication is through tools like skype and Zoom.
At the moment, I conduct individual lessons however in the future, I am considering expanding to group lessons depending on the demand and need.
My Lessons emphasize the practical aspects of Database programming using MYSQL as the database management system.
Among the Concepts we learn in Database Management is understanding database concepts like defining a database, structure of a database, types of database management systems, relational databases, turples in a relation, attributes in a relation, cardinality of a relation, degree of a relation, relation schemas etc.
We also cover practical sessions on databases using MYSQL like creating a database, creating tables in a database, inserting records in a table, querying the database, connecting tables using primary keys and foreign keys etc.
During the practical sessions, I share a link with the students to download MYSQL and install it on their computers such that they can follow in and practice too.
To test whether the learners are understanding, I engage learners by giving assignments to ascertain whether the leaners are understanding. These assignments are presented by the learners to ascertain whether they are understanding the concepts.
