My first priority when tutoring is to instill a deep understanding of the subject. A typical lesson plan involves explaining a short concept or idea, then either doing an example or demonstration of said idea, followed by an example problem for the student to do on their own. I have found this allows me the most flexibility, and also instills deep understanding. I am comfortable teaching any math level below calculus, and I can adapt lessons to an individual student or scenario.
