About Emani

I am former student of the prestigious Florida A&M University and a member of the Marching 100 Rattler Band. I have graduated from Southwest Dekalb High School making the GMEA All-State Band's 2nd chair trumpet. I have made the top ensembles at University Band Festivals and Competitions including UGA JanFest Wind Ensemble, performed as 1st chair Trumpet at District and County Level Band and Orchestra Auditioning for Placement. I have performed across the United States being a professional classical and jazz musician and still take performance gigs often to enhance the skill of performing on all types of stages. I am eager to share all of what I know to help build the musicality of those wishing to better themselves at the craft of musicianship. I am eager to learn what concerns and needs my mentees have in order to better understand which ways they struggle and to give them the exact guidance they need to make the top ensembles and universities as I did.

About the lesson

I always remembered early on what was taught that had the most impressions on my abilities to play and that is to practice fundamentally. Those things that were hardest to get right, I would sit down and play it until I could not mess it up. So, I will make sure that in lessons, repetition is instilled as a key factor to positive development. FOR BEGINNER TO ADVANCED TRUMPET PLAYERS - 1. Air (First Thing To Establish Sound) -2. Lip Placement (Embouchure Strengthening) -3. Posture and Finger Placement on Valves (Good Dexterity Exercises) -4. Playing Lyrical and Technical (Exercises to Build Tone and Characteristics) -5. Reading (Sight-Read Something Every Day) This list of objectives are for any trumpet players or wind instrument players K-12 grades looking to increase their level of playing and reading ability. I can teach in ways to easily understand the material or music presented. I can help with auditions or and performance related areas as I have made top ensembles across the state of Georgia including GMEA All-State. I am here to help and can offer what I was taught that allows my performance to never lag or fail.
