About Jessalyn

I am a trumpet player of over ten years, studying music among other things at the University of Iowa. I’ve played the French Horn for four years, I also play the piano and the ukulele! I’ve been a member of many chamber choirs as well as selective brass ensembles and honor bands!

About the lesson

My teaching strategy is to explore, comprehend, and play! Students will be exposed to many composers and genres within their interests, while making connections to music fundamentals as well as technical skills. Working within their skill level, they will expand their knowledge of basic rhythmic details, as well as develop their overall musicianship!

Excellent! Jessalyn was very methodical and deliberate with her approach. Offered lots of very helpful pointers, and places to look for research between our sessions. She was a perfect balance of critical, and encouraging. Great teacher
