About Diego

Hi, I'm Diego! I'm a Montreal-based professional and Concordia University graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Finance.

I'm fluent in French, English and Italian and have spent more than 20 years working in a variety of professional environments, including the Canadian federal public service, finance, entrepreneurship, construction, real estate development and residential real estate.

Throughout my career, I've regularly had to take complicated financial, technical and business information and explain it clearly to people with very different levels of knowledge and experience. That's something I genuinely enjoy and one of the reasons I've decided to bring my experience into tutoring.

For language students, I offer something a little different from a traditional classroom approach. Having lived and worked professionally in both French and English, I can help students with the language people actually use in everyday life and in the workplace, while still working on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and written communication.

For students studying finance, commerce or economics, I combine my university education with decades of practical business experience. I like connecting the theory you're learning in school to situations that actually happen in business and in the real world.

I'm patient, approachable and easy to talk to. There's no embarrassment in making mistakes or asking questions during my lessons — that's part of learning. My goal is to understand where you want to go and help you get there at a pace that works for you.

About the lesson

My approach is practical, personalized and focused on what you actually want to accomplish. I adapt each lesson to your level, goals and learning style rather than following the same rigid program with every student.

For French and English, I focus heavily on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, comprehension and building confidence. We can work on everyday language, schoolwork or professional communication. For adults and professionals, I can also focus on workplace French, interviews, presentations and conversational practice for bilingual positions, including Canadian federal public service environments.

A typical lesson begins with identifying what you want to improve, followed by guided conversation, explanations and practical exercises. I believe languages are learned by actually using them, so I encourage students to speak as much as possible while correcting mistakes and explaining why something should be said differently.

For finance, commerce and economics, I use my Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and more than 20 years of real-world business experience to make concepts easier to understand through practical examples rather than simply memorizing theory.

What sets me apart is my professional background and ability to communicate comfortably in French, English and Italian. I've worked in the Canadian federal public service, finance, entrepreneurship, real estate and business management, so I can bring real professional experience into our lessons.

I welcome teenagers, university and college students, adults and professionals, from beginners who need patient guidance to more advanced learners who simply want to become more fluent and confident.
