About Williams

Having taught piano for over 7 years and holding a degree in music performance, I am dedicated to helping students develop a deep understanding of music while also fostering their creativity. My teaching method is highly adaptable, ensuring that each student receives lessons that are tailored to their individual goals and learning style. For beginners, I introduce fundamental concepts like hand position, note reading, and rhythm through simple exercises that lay a solid foundation for future learning. As students progress, I incorporate more complex material, including music theory, advanced finger techniques, and more intricate pieces of music. I believe in exposing students to a variety of genres, from classical to jazz, pop, and contemporary, to help them develop versatility as musicians and explore the wide range of music the world has to offer. I also encourage students to think creatively by introducing them to improvisation and composition, allowing them to express themselves musically and develop their own unique style. Ear training is another crucial part of my teaching, as it helps students develop their listening skills and become more proficient at playing by ear. I provide regular opportunities for students to perform, whether in recitals or informal settings, as I believe performance is essential for building confidence and refining musical skills. My goal is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to explore their musical abilities and grow as musicians.

About the lesson

With a degree in music and 7 years of experience teaching piano, I believe that every student can become a skilled and confident pianist, regardless of their starting point. I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs and goals of my students, ensuring that every lesson is both educational and enjoyable. For beginners, I focus on building strong foundational skills, including hand positioning, note reading, rhythm, and basic music theory. For more advanced students, I guide them through more challenging pieces, focusing on improving sight-reading, developing improvisational skills, and expanding their technical abilities. I encourage students to explore different musical genres, including classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary styles, to help them become well-rounded musicians. Ear training and improvisation are key aspects of my teaching, as I believe these skills help students develop a deeper connection to the music they play. I also offer performance opportunities to help students gain confidence and stage presence. My goal is to inspire a lifelong love of music while giving students the tools they need to succeed as pianists.
