About Dennis
Having originally trained as a secondary school teacher in the UK I have experience both with 10-11 year olds and 11-18 year olds; since then I have trained teachers and run leadership workshops for adults. I have a wide range of interests and this led me to writing poetry, short stories and novels. Various short stories and poems have been published/podcast and nominated for awards; this led me into narration and voice acting which I have found particularly relevant to supporting people struggling with presentations.

As a trained secondary teacher with experience supporting learners new to a subject, I base all of my lessons around: 1) What the student needs (for a particular outcome), 2) What the student enjoys (what works for them), 3) A focus on key areas such as grammar, reading, spelling etc. identified in partnership with the student. Whatever we do has to be fun, I strongly believe that if a student isn't having fun they will not learn effectively. Lessons can either be wide-ranging across the subject or focused on the production and editing of a specific document, or practice in giving a presentation etc.
