About Gabriela
I am an elementary education major, working on my undergraduate and graduate degree at Lake Forest College. Currently, as a junior, I have been trained in teaching elementary level math, chemistry, biology, writing, and reading, and have observed elementary and middle school classrooms. I have tutored specific subjects as well as aided/taught a student more generally with remote classes due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I play collegiate soccer and have work experience as a babysitter, tutor, summer camp counselor, special needs mentor/buddy, Chicago Public School District intern, and Education based non-profit intern.

As an aspiring elementary school educator, I am able to give lessons in all subjects. As an educator and tutor, I am very passionate about and committed to students' success and ability to thrive academically. I value mutual trust and respect between the teacher/tutor and student because a strong relationship is the foundation to opening up, asking questions, and not being afraid to learn. I also value students having academic goals for how they would like to succeed and what they would like to improve on. Self reflection is very important and shows the students and myself what they would like to work towards. I am also very organized and would keep students on track.
