About Hudson

With 15 years of drumming and a bachelor's in Music Education, I bring professionalism, musical discipline, and supportive guidance to every session. My experience includes performing in symphonic ensembles, jazz quartets, marching groups, studio recordings, and contemporary bands. This diverse background allows me to teach drumming with depth, clarity, and real-world relevance. My lessons focus on building strong technique, precise timing, musical interpretation, and expressive control.

I guide students through structured learning while also encouraging creativity and exploration. Lessons are adapted to each learner’s goals, whether they aim to play casually, join a band, prepare for auditions, or develop advanced skills. I use a combination of technical drills, rhythm reading, groove training, improvisation, and song-based exercises to build well-rounded musicianship. My teaching environment is friendly, patient, and motivating. I believe that students learn best when they feel supported and understood.

Practice plans are tailored to each student to ensure consistent progress. I enjoy celebrating achievements and helping learners overcome challenges through encouragement and clear instruction. Drumming is a meaningful art form that builds confidence, focus, and emotional expression. Watching students grow into capable and expressive musicians is one of my greatest joys. I’m committed to helping every student unlock their full rhythmic potential.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are designed to give beginners a supportive, structured, and fun introduction to drumming while building confidence and foundational skills. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether learning basic beats, developing coordination, or preparing to play with other musicians. Lessons cover timing, stick control, hand independence, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and musical awareness. I incorporate exercises, play-alongs, song practice, and simple improvisation to make learning practical and engaging.

Students receive guidance on effective practice routines, goal-setting, and milestone tracking to ensure consistent progress. My teaching environment is positive, patient, and encouraging, giving learners confidence to experiment and explore creativity. Lessons emphasise listening skills, rhythm comprehension, and practical application in solo and ensemble contexts. Students gradually develop technical proficiency, coordination, independence, and musical confidence.

Milestones are celebrated to reinforce progress and maintain motivation. Lessons cultivate discipline, focus, and problem-solving while keeping learning enjoyable. Drumming becomes a tool for creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. Each session is structured, productive, and inspiring, helping students build a strong foundation for future advancement.
