About Andy
# About Me
I developed a genuine passion for History during my secondary school years. I was fortunate to have a History teacher who was kind, funny and full of character. He was supportive and patient with his students, and although he challenged us to improve, he was never intimidating or overly strict.
His teaching style made History something I genuinely enjoyed learning, rather than simply a subject I had to study for an examination. He also encouraged me to keep improving and to believe that I could do better with the right effort and guidance.
I eventually became the top-scoring History student in my secondary school and achieved an **A1 for O-Level History**. My experience as a student also made me consider becoming a teacher myself one day.
Today, I want to teach because I hope to give students some of the same encouragement and support that I received from my own teacher. I want to help students understand and enjoy History, while also building the confidence and answering skills they need to perform well in their examinations.

My Teaching Approach
I believe History becomes much easier when you understand the story, connections and reasons behind events instead of simply memorising facts. My approach focuses on helping students understand the content first, then teaching them how to structure their answers and identify what examiners are looking for.
I can help students with:
Understanding key historical events, causes and consequences
Remembering important facts and concepts through simpler explanations
Answering structured and source-based questions
Improving essay structure and answering techniques
Identifying common mistakes and learning how to score more consistently in exams
