About Erika
Fun, supportive, and stress-free tutoring where difficult subjects become simple and easy to understand.
I am a third-year student at UBC studying Psychology and Fine Arts, with a strong academic record and a 90% average. Alongside my studies, I have experience working closely with younger students in a supportive learning role, including helping with schoolwork and guiding them through assignments in a patient and structured way. This experience has helped me develop a calm, approachable, and encouraging teaching style, especially when working one-on-one.
I am most comfortable working with high school students and younger learners, particularly in subjects such as math, statistics, science, and general homework support. I am also able to support early university students in foundational psychology, humanities, English, and Spanish courses.
My teaching style is creative, visual, and step-by-step. I focus on breaking down concepts in a clear and accessible way so that students can build real understanding and confidence. I aim to create a supportive and down-to-earth learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring difficult topics, and working through challenges at their own pace. I also want students to realize that difficult topics are manageable once they are properly explained.

My lessons are supportive, engaging, and fully tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. I focus on building both understanding and confidence, helping students move beyond memorization to truly understand concepts in statistics, math, science, psychology, and humanities.
As a third-year UBC Psychology and Fine Arts student with a 90% average, I bring strong academic experience and a clear understanding of what it takes to succeed at the university level. I am patient, approachable, and experienced working with younger students through mentoring programs, where I developed strong communication and leadership skills.
I have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning needs, and I adapt my teaching approach to make learning accessible, clear, and effective for each individual. My lessons are flexible and interactive, and I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel supported and confident asking questions.
In addition to academic subjects, I also offer support in English and Spanish, as well as piano, singing, and creative learning. My goal is to help students succeed in a way that works for them while making learning engaging and enjoyable.
