About Peter

I love music. It is an expression of the soul. I love getting out of the way and letting it flow. Some basic structure is necessary for this as well. When I am playing a song I really love, it is coming from the heart and is much more powerful then a song I am half into. I would love to hear about the songs you wish to learn that light you up and give you passion.

About the lesson

Over the years I have taught many beginners informally. Learning guitar can be a little overwhelming for the nervous system and I have found it helpful to do different kinds of exercises to strengthen the nerve signals from each hand independently then synchronizing both left and right hand together. We not only play guitar with our brains but with out body as well and the nerves running from our head to our fingers will get thicker and able to carry more clear signals as we advance with our skill level. For instance I notice that I can tune an acoustic guitar by ear more easily when it is on my leg because my leg has gotten more sensitive to the vibration. In my lessons we can break down what ever songs you wish to learn into parts making it more digestible for the nervous system then bring it all together for the finished product. This goes for singing as well. I play by ear and have created a way of learning songs that reflect this. Learning how to learn this way also makes it easier to jam with others and jump into a song someone else is playing. Programing patterns into the nervous systems (tool kit) then allowing your self to move through those patterns intuitively makes for and awesome jam session.
