About Ivy

Armed with a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics and 9 years of tutoring experience, I guide IB and A-Level students to success in mathematics. My teaching style emphasizes conceptual clarity and logical understanding. Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics are areas of particular expertise. I introduce different problem-solving strategies to help students build adaptability. Past papers are a major tool in my lessons, offering realistic exam practice and exposure to question patterns. I work with students to analyze mistakes and refine techniques. My feedback is consistent, helping them track progress over time. I encourage active engagement and independent thinking during sessions. Mathematics is best learned by connecting theory with problem-solving practice. I believe that once a strong foundation is built, advanced topics feel far more approachable. My goal is to make lessons both interactive and rewarding. With guidance and effort, even the toughest challenges in mathematics can be conquered.

About the lesson

My method of teaching mathematics is simple, structured, and progressive. I start with algebraic foundations, ensuring students feel confident in the basics. From there, I guide them into calculus, with differentiation and integration explained through examples. Geometry proofs are taught in a step-by-step manner that builds reasoning skills. Probability and statistics are linked to practical problems to make them clear and useful. Each lesson is planned along a progression path so that learning builds steadily. Tailored guidance helps meet individual needs. As a Future Actuary and Problem Solver, I introduce creative strategies to solve questions. Past papers are used often to build exam readiness and familiarity. Feedback is clear and constructive, guiding students toward improvement. My teaching style is interactive, encouraging questions and active participation. I focus on lasting understanding, not just memorization for tests. With patience and support, students can approach mathematics with confidence and success.
