About the lesson

As a tutor, I believe in creating a personalized and engaging learning experience tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals. My teaching method emphasizes understanding core concepts and building a strong foundation before tackling more advanced material. I focus on interactive learning, encouraging students to ask questions and actively participate in solving problems. I break down complex topics into manageable steps and use real-world examples to make lessons relatable and memorable.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previously covered material to reinforce understanding. Next, we set goals for the session and introduce the new topic in an approachable way. I explain concepts clearly, demonstrate problem-solving techniques, and provide guided practice. The session ends with the student working on problems independently to apply what they’ve learned, followed by a summary and preview of the next lesson. Homework or additional practice may be assigned to reinforce skills.

My educational background at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) and my current studies at the University of Virginia give me a deep understanding of STEM subjects. I draw from my rigorous academic training and years of tutoring experience to simplify challenging material and make it accessible. I have a proven track record of working with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, and I take pride in building confidence and curiosity in my students.

My lessons are ideal for students at all levels, from elementary school to high school, who need help in math, science (including AP Biology), or SAT preparation.
