About Raoul

I'm Raoul, I'm a third year University of Limerick student studying to become a secondary school Spanish and German teacher.

I have a strong passion for German and enjoy helping students develop both their understanding of the language and their confidence in speaking and using it.

I have completed several German language courses, including a DAAD funded scholarship course in Heidelberg, Germany, and have gained valuable classroom experience teaching German through my school placement. I also have experience providing Leaving Certificate Higher Level German grinds.

I aim to provide supportive and engaging lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, improving their grammar and practising their German, while building the confidence needed for both written and oral examinations.

About the lesson

My goal as a German tutor is to make the language more accessible and help students feel confident in their abilities. I understand that German grammar and pronunciation can be challenging, so I focus on breaking down difficult concepts and explaining them in a clear and approachable way. Lessons are tailored to each student's level, whether they are beginners, looking to strengthen their language skills or preparing for Junior Cycle or Leaving Certificate exams. I also encourage the use of German during lessons wherever possible, adjusting the amount spoken to suit each student's ability and confidence.

I am currently in my third year at the University of Limerick, studying to become a secondary school Spanish and German teacher. I have gained experience teaching German during my school placement, alongside providing private grinds to Higher Level Leaving Certificate students and adult beginners.

I have also completed several German language courses, including a DAAD funded course in Heidelberg, Germany, which has helped me develop my own language skills and understanding of German culture.

Lessons are generally 1 hour long, although this can be adjusted to suit the student.

Raoul and I went to secondary school together he always took his studies seriously . He really helped me in my leaving cert year by always being willing to explain anything I didn’t understand about German. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without him. I couldn’t recommend anyone better.
