About Jade

We all have this one subject that just doesn't fit in our heads as easily as others, sometimes you just need a hand in to fill the gaps in your understanding!
That's something I realised while tutoring and I've enjoyed every single time I decided to help out a classmate. Seeing someone understand something thanks to my contributions is something I am proud of. I have myself been tutored before in other subjects and it is a great feeling to have a one on one interaction with someone willing to help you.
I go into a session openminded and the first thing I do is I hear out my tutee and let them explain what they are struggling with. After a good idea of the scope of the problem, I fall back on the idea that understanding Math concepts depends on understanding the logic chain behind them, so if there is a missing link in that chain, then the tutee cannot understand it. So after explaining the missing link and practicing long enough, my tutee usually leaves feeling more confident. This is what I hope to achieve with you!
Other than my strong mathematical background, I also bring some enthusiasm into a session - I'm an approachable and happy person overall

About the lesson

Being a math tutor has always felt natural for me. This is because whenever I learned something new in math, I wanted to explain it to others as it was part of my own learning process. I've helped classmates, friends, family with all of them telling me it feels easy to learn from me.
Now that I'm at uni, I still have this strong mathematical core that I apply everyday but cannot share or help anyone with. So I hope I can help you!

I earned my French Baccalaureate (Scientific Series) with an overall grade of 94% and a specialisation in Math (equivalent to Further Math). In my first and second year in Engineering (currently in my third year), I got 84% and 67% respectively in Engineering Math. I'm a very quick learner as well so any concept I am not super familiar with is not out of reach!

I can confidently teach math to anyone still at school (GCSE and A-Levels included).
