About David

I have finished my third year of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, and I'm currently doing a year in Industry. I am a patient, friendly person, very interested and passionate about the subjects I'm studying. With over 200 hours of tutoring experience, I have helped many students achieve their goals in a variety of different subjects.

Finishing studying A levels in the summer of 2021, I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I also sat the ENGAA for Cambridge Engineering admissions. I constantly read around my subject, and have participated in the UKMT and Physics Olympiad, achieving a silver in both exams.

I have experience tutoring all 3 GCSE maths and science, A level Maths, Further maths and Chemistry, as well as help with personal statement advice and Uni and course selection advice.

Having been through Cambridge admissions, I am very familiar with the process and have helped students throughout the whole admissions stage. I have helped students with ENGAA, NSAA, PAT, TMUA and ESAT, as well as arranged mock interviews. (Note: since the admission lessons require more prep from me, I charge £35 per hour)

About the lesson

I believe a thorough intuitive grasp of concepts as well as focusing on improving exam technique are the best ways in securing a top grade.

My lessons would be specific to each tutees needs. We will generally focus on requested areas where I'll assess the students strengths and understanding and build upon knowledge from there. I have access to textbooks, revision worksheets and many other resources, which can be used if appropriate.

I am happy to provide and mark any homework, as you would like.

In our lessons, we will use an interactive virtual whiteboard, where both users can collaborate. A tablet or writing pad would be useful but by no means required.

My daughter finds his method of teaching extremely helpful as he explains every step clearly.
