Hi there! I am currently a Maths and Music second year at the University of Glasgow. I have experience tutoring KS3 and some KS4 but would love to try and teach up to A level.

About Rowena

During my two years at Glasgow, I have greatly enjoyed learning mathematics to a higher degree. One lecturer, in particular, was the one to inspire and rekindle my passion for tutoring as I haven't done it in a while but remember thoroughly enjoying it.

About the lesson

In my previous lessons, I like to have a small conversation to fully understand the level that your child is at so that I can make the most of the time we have. It's also useful for me to have a couple of test questions completed in the first meeting so that I can understand the students' way of thinking and which method of teaching would be best for them.

My typical lesson would be explaining the topic we would be learning that day in a couple of ways, making sure the student understands and asking if they need clarification. Then, I would move on to an example question(s) that we would work through together. I believe that repetition of a mathematical topic is the best way to understand it. After this, a few short questions would be given for the student to complete by themselves.

A typical lesson length can be anything up to an hour depending on you and the child's preferences and I am happy to teach up to A Level.
