About Daphne

I am a violin tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance. My teaching takes a holistic and therapeutic approach, emphasising self-expression, emotional release, and musical storytelling. I use improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation to support personal growth. Lessons are designed for mindfulness, stress reduction, and emotional well-being. I work closely with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adults seeking healing through music. My approach helps students connect deeply with their inner voice. I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for exploration. Each session encourages freedom, creativity, and emotional connection. I guide learners in developing their own musical language and expression. Playing the violin becomes both a personal and transformative journey. I emphasise listening, intuition, and mindful practice. Every student is encouraged to explore their feelings through sound. My goal is to help learners find peace, joy, and self-discovery through the violin.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a focus on developing strong sight-reading skills. Students learn to read ledger lines, complex rhythms, and multi-part scores with confidence. My approach is systematic, connecting visual notation directly to finger placement. I provide exercises to strengthen rapid visual-to-finger coordination. Lessons are suitable for all levels and are designed to improve reading fluency. The Musical Theatre Enthusiast and The Worship Singer benefit from personalised guidance to read new pieces instantly. I emphasise accuracy, speed, and musical expression in every session. Each lesson combines technical drills with practical repertoire. Students learn to anticipate patterns and interpret music quickly. I encourage consistent practice and gradual skill-building. Lessons are engaging, structured, and rewarding. Students gain confidence in reading and performing unfamiliar music. My goal is to help learners play new pieces effortlessly and expressively.
