About Katlego

Hi, I’m your child’s learning partner, and I believe every learner can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and tools.

I’m a qualified, CAPS-aligned tutor with experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings, working with Foundation Phase Grade R-3 and Intermediate Phase Grade 4-6 learners. My goal is to help students build strong foundations in reading, writing, and numeracy, while growing the confidence they need to say “I can do this.”

What makes my lessons different? They’re personal. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. I combine phonics, hands-on activities, enquiry-based learning, and educational technology to match your child’s pace, strengths, and learning style. We focus on understanding first, then mastery. Mistakes aren’t failures here — they’re how we learn and grow. I create a professional, respectful, and safe space where questions are always welcome.

I teach in English and capable of teaching other subjects.

A typical lesson starts with a fun warm-up to activate thinking, then we dive into a targeted CAPS concept using visuals, stories, and real-life examples. Next comes guided practice together, followed by independent work. Every session ends with clear feedback and a quick progress note for parents, so you’re always in the loop.

My lessons are perfect for students who need extra support, a confidence boost, test and exam preparation, early intervention, or extension work to reach their full potential. I especially love working with children who learn best through play, visuals, and technology.

About the lesson

I use a child-centred, CAPS-aligned approach to make learning engaging, practical, and confidence-building for Foundation Phase Grade R-3 and Intermediate Phase Grade 4-6 learners. My methodology combines phonics, hands-on activities, educational technology, and enquiry-based learning. What makes me unique is that I adapt each lesson to your child’s pace, strengths, and learning style, focusing on understanding before mastery in a safe space where effort is celebrated. I teach in English.
