About Pinky

Hello! I’m Pinky, a TESOL-qualified English teacher with over 17 years of experience teaching children in Hong Kong, China, and online.

I’m a warm, patient, and encouraging teacher who genuinely enjoys helping children discover the joy of learning English. I understand that every child learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each student and create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable speaking, asking questions, and making mistakes.

I have experience teaching children from ages 3–12, including beginners, and helping them develop their phonics, reading, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary, speaking, and overall English skills. I also have experience preparing students for Cambridge YLE Starters, Movers, and Flyers.

I speak English and Mandarin, and having lived in different countries and cultures has helped me connect easily with students from diverse backgrounds.

I would love the opportunity to help your child become a confident, enthusiastic English learner.

About the lesson

I make English fun, engaging, and comfortable for children. With 17+ years of teaching experience and TESOL qualifications, I use a patient, encouraging, and child-centered approach.

I teach children ages 3–12, from complete beginners to more confident learners. I can help with:
• Phonics, pronunciation & early literacy
• Reading, writing & spelling
• Speaking, conversation & vocabulary
• Grammar and general English
• Cambridge YLE: Starters, Movers & Flyers
• English homework support

Lessons are tailored to each child’s age, level, interests, and learning goals. A typical lesson includes a warm-up, review, new learning, guided practice, and plenty of opportunities to speak. For younger learners, I use stories, songs, games, pictures, and interactive phonics activities to keep lessons enjoyable.

My goal is to help every child build strong English skills, gain confidence, and enjoy learning. Whether your child is just starting English or preparing for Cambridge YLE, I’m here to support their progress.

Details

My lessons are personalized 1-to-1 online English lessons designed around each child’s age, level, and learning goals. The hourly rate includes lesson preparation, teaching materials, and individualized activities based on your child’s needs. I offer support in phonics, reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, general English, and Cambridge YLE preparation. The first lesson can be used to get to know your child, understand their current level and goals, and plan the best approach for future lessons.
