About Michael
I am a TESOL certified English teacher with a degree in education. I specialise in IELTS Speaking, conversation practice, general and academic/exam level vocabulary, interview preparation, and public speaking. I have close to fifteen years of both online and offline teaching experience.
Over my career I have helped numerous students achieve their goals, whether it be getting their desired IELTS band score or getting their dream job. It is my passion in life. In today's world English is the lingua franca and as a result knowing English will open many doors for students. This will allow them to improve themselves, their communities and the world. So by helping others to improve their English I am helping to improve the world.

IELTS preparation students: Students will be introduced to useful techniques/vocabulary/grammar and will then be given the opportunity to put this into practice in the context of actual IELTS exam questions.
Conversation practice students: The student and I will talk about a variety of topics, including current events, news, history, movies, travel, literature, hobbies, life in general, and any subject the student wishes to discuss. Over the course of the conversation I will provide the student with synonyms, idioms, and feedback on their pronunciation, grammar, and how they can sound more natural.
Public speaking students: I will teach the student how to be an effective public speaker through teaching them techniques and guidelines to follow. I will also give the student opportunities to practise their speech with me, in a friendly and safe environment, and then offer them feedback on it.
Interview Preparation students: We will practise interview questions and what you can expect in an interview. The primary focus will be on vocabulary and grammar essential for interviews. Attention will also be given to how to handle trickier questions such as, "What is your greatest weakness?" This is designed both for those who want to prepare for a job interview and university interviews.
Vocabulary enhancement students: Students will learn vocabulary that goes beyond what is normally taught in ESL courses and tends to be more advanced and academic. Additionally students will learn useful idioms and phrases to use in their daily life. This is taught over the course of a natural conversation. When learning vocabulary it is critical to learn it in a natural context. Additionally over the course of conversation feedback will be given on the students' grammar and on how they can sound more natural.
Lessons can be either 30 minutes or 1 hour (It is the student's choice).
I am a TESOL certified English teacher with a degree in education I have close to fifteen years of both online and offline teaching experience.
My lessons are designed for teenagers and adults. They also require the student to be able to have a conversation in English.
