About Thaakir
Hi! My name is Thaakir, and I’m from Cape Town, South Africa. I’m currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Islamic Studies, and I’m also TEFL certified, with a 150-hour TEFL course. I really enjoy helping students feel confident speaking English in a relaxed and supportive way, especially through real conversations. I’m a native English speaker, and I also speak Arabic and Afrikaans, so I understand what it’s like to learn and use different languages. Outside of teaching, I love sports — especially cricket and soccer — and I enjoy watching sports, camping, hiking, and anything a bit adventurous. I’ve also traveled to Thailand, which was a great experience. I’m friendly, patient, and easy to talk to, and I’d be happy to help you improve your English at a pace that suits you.
