About Jonita

Hi, everyone! My name is Jonita and I’m from the Philippines. I’m a TEFL/TESOL - certified tutor with 8 years of teaching experience, a Business English Coach, and an American Accent trainer. I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults from different countries, handling learners from beginner to advanced levels.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Banking and Finance. Throughout my teaching career, I have helped many students achieve their personal and professional goals. Some have successfully passed university exams, secured call center positions, while the other had passed a job interview to work overseas.
My teaching approach is learner-centered, where students can actively participate during classes. I focus on phonics, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, writing, spelling, and confidence-building. I also specialize in Business English, equipping learners with practical communication skills for professional and workplace settings. In addition, I provide targeted preparation for exams such as EIKEN and HIPPO, students build the competence and confidence needed to succeed. I tailor each lesson according to my students’ individual needs and goals. I strongly believe that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process, so I create a friendly, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
Teaching is truly my passion, and I can see myself that I’ll be teaching for a lifetime. I believe that a good education can change anyone, while a good teacher can change everything.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and practical. I focus on helping learners use English confidently in real-life situations. I use:
• Conversational practice (daily speaking topics)
• Guided correction and pronunciation drills
• Role-playing (real-world scenarios like interviews, travel, and business)
• Listening and repetition techniques
• Personalized feedback after every lesson
A typical lesson is structured like this:
1. Warm-up (5–10 mins) – simple conversation to build confidence
2. Main lesson (20–30 mins) – grammar, vocabulary, or speaking topic
3. Practice (15–20 mins) – speaking activities, role-play, or Q&A
4. Correction & Feedback (10 mins) – pronunciation and grammar correction
5. Wrap-up – summary + homework or practice tips
