About Norbu

I am so excited for the opportunity to tutor you! I want to get to know your experience and comfort in learning math, learning style, and goals for our tutoring sessions, and I want to help you become the more self-assured and confident version of yourself when it comes to academic learning!

About the lesson

I like to create a learning space that is non-judgmental, understanding, and encouraging. I want to help build my student's confidence and trust in their mathematical abilities in three main ways. The first is by asking guided, open-ended questions to help with their critical thinking and reasoning, the second is by breaking down problems into smaller steps to decrease how overwhelming a problem may be, and the third is by using games and puzzles to keep math playful and low stakes.

I am available to teach math from a middle school to a high school level (algebra to calculus) , and have special skill and interest in statistics as well!

Perfect! Norbu is very knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and helpful. She is very patient and takes the time to make sure my son fully understands the math concepts so that he’s able to do the problems on his own. Wonderful tutor all around!
