About Sara

Hello everyone! :)

ABOUT ME
I'm Sara and I hold a BA degree in Modern languages and English language. I speak fluent Polish, English, and German, and a bit of French.

ABOUT MY QUALIFICATIONS - German
1. As a part of my BA degree, I completed modules such as mediating skills, translation, and interpreting (German&English). Some of my other modules: German language, French language, sociolinguistics, semantics and pragmatics, phonology, and language rights.
2. My team won a translation competition.
3. As a part of my BA dissertation, I conducted a study on oral corrective feedback methods in the acquisition of German grammatical structures. In my research project, I tried to find out which method of oral corrective feedback is more effective for adult learners’ acquisition of German grammatical structures including causation and consequence clauses, conjunctions, and verb position in the sentence.
4. I have studied German for more than 11 years. Additionally, I spent a compulsory year abroad in Germany as a part of my degree.
5. My previous volunteering experience as a German language session leader at one of the local schools was an amazing journey. I realised I enjoy teaching languages to individuals.

ABOUT MY QUALIFICATIONS - English
1. I studied English language as a part of my BA degree. I studied subjects such as syntax, semantics, pragmatics, morphology, phonology, and sociolinguistics.
2. I have 8 years of experience teaching German and English to my younger brothers and providing them with learning tips (with excellent results!).

ABOUT MY QUALIFICATIONS - Polish
I'm a Polish native speaker, born and raised in Poland. I can teach you conversational Polish, grammar, punctuation, and anything else you wish to learn about our language and culture!

About the lesson

If you would like to learn German/Polish/English, I'm here for you. I don't just tell you the rules but I do my best to explain language acquisition processes, give examples, and make sure you understand how you can study in the most effective way.
My aim is to:
1. Make you confident and proud of your language skills;
2. Keep you motivated throughout our journey (and no stress is needed!);
3. Fight your language anxiety if this is something you struggle with.
