About Othman
I was born in the US, in Portland, Oregon. I grew up there until my 7th birthday. After my Board exam, I moved to Paris to study French literature. Once my bachelor was completed, I was admitted to Sorbonne University, in a double master's degree in French literature and philosophy. I now have a master's degree both in French Literature and Philosophy from Sorbonne University. I taught in France, in high school for four years (class 10 to 12), before moving to Kolkata last year, where I taught in high school (The Newtown School of Kolkata). This year, I teach French Literature and Didactics at Goa University. My experience as a French teacher allows me to identify and address quickly the mistakes commonly made by new learners. I'm always enthusiastic about sharing my language and allowing learners to access a new culture. Therefore, don't hesitate to contact me for further information! À bientôt ^^

With me, you will learn alongside a fluent native French speaker. My methodology follows CECRL's recommendations: it is an action-oriented approach. Rather than focusing solely on the mastery of linguistic forms, we will use French as a tool for communication and action. Indeed, language learning has been proved to be most effective when learners engage in meaningful, real-life tasks and activities. Hence, here are the key principles of my action-oriented French classes: Communication and Interaction - Task-Based learning - Authentic French materials - Cultural awareness - Integrated skills (speaking, oral comprehension, reading, writing) - Feedback and reflection. Whether it is oral skills or writing skills you are seeking to improve, this action-oriented approach will help you tremendously. Also, as an American-born citizen (Portland, Oregon) I am fluent in English. This allows me to switch to English whenever the learner struggles understanding French.
