About Dylan

With 16 years' of teaching experience and a Master’s in Contemporary Percussion, I offer a dynamic and engaging approach to drum instruction. My background includes performing at festivals, recording sessions, and ensemble concerts. These experiences have shaped the depth of my teaching style. I focus on helping students build technical accuracy and musical expression. Lessons cover timing, stick technique, independence, and dynamic control. I help students understand rhythm patterns both visually and by ear. I work with students of all ages and skill levels.

Each lesson is adjusted to fit your pace and goals. We explore a variety of musical genres for versatility. My teaching style is patient, clear, and focused. About the lesson

My drum lessons are designed to provide beginners with a structured, supportive, and motivating learning experience while building confidence and foundational skills. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether learning basic rhythms, improving coordination, or preparing for ensemble playing. Lessons cover timing, stick control, hand independence, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and musical awareness. I incorporate exercises, play-along tracks, song practice, and simple improvisation to make learning fun and practical.

Students receive guidance on effective practice routines, goal-setting, and milestone tracking to ensure steady growth. My teaching environment is positive, encouraging, and patient, giving learners the confidence to take risks and explore their creativity. Lessons emphasise listening skills, rhythm comprehension, and practical application in both solo and ensemble contexts. Students gradually develop technical proficiency, coordination, independence, and confidence. Milestones are celebrated to reinforce achievement and motivation.
