About Raghav

Hi, my name is Raghav. I have finished Year 13 and have completed A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Computer Science with predicted grades of A*A*A*A*. I also ranked 4th in the entire cohort for Further Maths.

I have always been passionate about teaching students and helping them to maximise their chances of achieving the best grades possible. I have had some prior experience teaching students at my own school. I tutored GCSE Maths, Economics and Computer Science students and it was extremely satisfying to see a major improvement in results upon all of their hard work.

I have also achieved 14 Grade 9s at GCSE as well as an A (highest grade) in FSMQ (Further Maths). I achieved the highest in my cohort for Maths (having achieved 99%) and other notable scores include 93% in Computer Science and 90% in Economics.

Achieving a score of 6.2 (new scaling - scales up to 7.0 (old scaling)) in the TMUA, alongside my personal statement has helped me secure offers to study Economics from LSE, UCL and Warwick University.

I cannot wait to continue sharing my knowledge and inspire students to reach their full potential.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is as follows:
1) I will start with a 5-minute starter or question which covers topics covered in the last lesson
2) I will teach each topic with a few examples, walking through it step by step. This will be an interactive process whereby I will be asking the student questions and vice versa
3) The student will then try to attempt a question themselves using the knowledge built. If they are stuck, we will work through it together
4) There will be homework questions for them to attempt before the next lesson

However, throughout the lesson, I can adapt the questions I ask and the pace at which I teach to ensure the student gains as much as possible and always learns something new!

Typical Length of a Lesson: Can range from 1-2 hours (however, I can do more than this if needed)

Experience as a tutor: Upon receiving 98% in my Hinduism GCSE, I taught younger students online using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Forms to ensure my lessons were as engaging and interactive as possible. I have also tutored GCSE students at my school face-to-face, and have been greatly commended for my efforts.

2) 11+ Students (Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, CEM/CSSE)
3) GCSE students (Maths, Further Maths/FSMQ, Economics, Computer Science)

5) Those looking to apply to university - personal statement guidance, TMUA
