About Lucy
I am a GCSE examiner, Teach First Ambassador, Teacher of English, MSc Real Estate student and BA hons Art Historian. I was a full time teacher for 2 years where I taught KS3, KS4 and tutored A-Level. I had 30 pupils in each class of mixed ability with SEN, EAL and Advanced Learners. Within my practice I was able to use my experience as an examiner to increase pupils' grades significantly through developing confidence in exam technique. For more able pupils I was able to develop their critical approach and use of context to enable them to attain their potential. I have taken pupils with target grades of 3 to a 5.

My teaching method centralises around learning the knowledge to develop critical thinking. Memory is the residue of thought therefore I encourage pupils to be active learners and engage in discussion. To enable thought my process centralises around discussion and the gathering of ideas, giving examples of how to approach a topic and then guiding a pupil to achieve a task. I believe that all pupils can achieve and that it is my role as an educator to supply access points.
