About Vanessa

I am a Colombian dancer, choreographer, and performer with more than 20 years of experience in dance training. I started dancing at a very young age and trained professionally in several well-known dance academies in Bogotá, Colombia, including Salsa Latina, a highly awarded academy recognized for its excellence, and Bureo, known for its strong artistic and performance-focused approach.

I am a licensed Zumba instructor for both adults and children and have taught group and private classes in different settings, combining technique, musicality, and physical conditioning. I have also worked as a Zumba and Salsa instructor at wellness-focused studios and have experience teaching dance to diverse communities, including adults and seniors.

Additionally, I have performed in cultural events and festivals in the United States, representing Colombian and Latin dance styles through choreography and performance. My background as both a performer and instructor allows me to guide my students with confidence, professionalism, and a deep understanding of movement, music, and expression.

About the lesson

I offer private and fully personalized Latin dance classes tailored to each student’s goals and level. I am an experienced Colombian performer and choreographer, with more than 20 years of training in dance, and I am also a licensed Zumba instructor.

My classes can focus entirely on salsa or bachata, or combine different Latin rhythms such as merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, salsa, and bachata, depending on what the student prefers. Because lessons are private, I adapt every session to your needs: whether you want a high-energy cardio workout, a technical class to learn steps and improve technique, or a balance of both.

I especially enjoy working with choreography, either as part of regular classes or for specific goals such as events, performances, weddings or special occasions. Complex choreographies can be developed over several sessions, allowing students to learn progressively and confidently.

I teach women and men, from beginner to intermediate levels, and I also offer advanced choreography work for those looking for a challenge. My teaching style is dynamic, motivating and supportive, always focused on helping you feel confident, enjoy the music and truly connect with Latin dance.

Vanessa helped me develop a better ear for the music and showed me how to translate what I hear into real dance steps. Step by step, she made everything feel clear and achievable. I can now dance through an entire song using different steps, turns, and combinations, which I never thought I would be able to get down. Thanks so much.

I would definitely recommend her. She has given my daughter dance lessons, and my daughter looks like a mini Shakira now. Would definitely recommend.

Taking dance classes with her for several months has been a wonderful experience for me. I have always loved dancing, but I felt insecure because I didn’t really know Latin dance steps. Through her classes, I learned proper salsa and Latin steps in a clear and professional way, which helped me feel much more confident.

Vanessa has great energy, a lot of patience, and a very kind teaching style. Her classes are fun, enjoyable, and at the same time very effective. I now feel more comfortable dancing at social events and parties, and I truly enjoy moving to Latin music with confidence.

She is a warm, encouraging, and talented instructor who makes learning enjoyable at any age. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn, improve, and enjoy Latin dance.
