About Veronika

My name is Veronika Soares, I am a wife, a mom of 3 children (ranging from 13 to 8 years of age), I recently retired my nursing license (I was a registered nurse for over 10 years) and now happily practice functional holistic nutrition working with clients all around the world addresswing weight loss and autoimmune issues.
My hobbies include spending days in nature...I love being at the beach, camping, fishing. However, I am also a person who needs to be home to recharge and recover.
As a family we love to travel and see other parts of the world, see how other cultures live and celebrate life. My husband is from Brasil and I am from Russia, we both met in Canada and we love immersing our children into different aspects of life and traditions.
My children are currently following an online education which gives us a bit more freedom and flexibility to travel when time allows.
I spent 17 years in the military (Canadian) as a nursing officer, so I have great leadership skills and discipline, however, I also spent over 10 years working with patients at the hospital so I have a perfect balance of empathy and compassion. I would really like to put my skills into the new type of environment such as working with kids/adults teaching them another language as I understand the hardships of picking up a new language (I am currently studying Spanish myself).

About the lesson

I spent 17 years in the military teaching new soldiers very complex skills/ I found that the best way to teach anyone anything is by demonstrating first, then allowing the student to have a hands on experience where THEY get to try it out and then we put it all together. This method worked for me when I had to teach new nursing graduates complex skills such as starting an IV, or doing a complex dressing change as well as when I spent a significant amount of time teaching little kids healthy nutrition.
I find if people understand WHY they are doing something the information seeps deeper and then it is a deeper knowledge rather than mindless repetition.
