Teach First Ambassador with experience in London schools - English tutor with Sonya

Sonya Pigott worked for us in the English Department earlier this year. She is very committed to her pupils and has a wide knowledge of English, which she studied herself to a high level. She has a genuine empathy for those she is teaching, prepares things thoroughly and takes the task very seriously.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Sonya for nearly four years both as a mentor, colleague and friend. I worked closely with her when she was training to be a secondary English teacher and supported her development as a classroom teacher. She has excellent knowledge of both English Language and English Literature teaching in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Sonya works well with individual students supporting them with their studies and I have recommended her to students in my own school who were struggling with English.
