About Sam
I have been writing since I was 12 years old. I started writing poetry, but I have written short stories, creative non-fiction essays, and screenplays.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Public History, with a minor in Creative Writing. I also have a Masters degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on writing and performance.
My teaching style is friendly and conversational.

I am primarily focused on poetry but I can also teach songwriting, essays, short stories, screenwriting, and longer novels.
My teaching method is to work through a progression of styles and topics.
A typical lesson plan would be for them to write their work and critique it during lesson time.
My lessons can be scaled for any type of student.
I'm a performer as well as a writer, so I can focus on writing for performance.
