About Shawn

I am Shawn Hardegree, an artist and educator passionate about helping students grow in skill, confidence, and creativity. My teaching blends strong artistic foundations, hands-on learning, and a biblical worldview, encouraging students to discover their God-given talents and creative voice.

About the lesson

My lessons combine strong artistic foundations, hands-on practice, creative exploration, and biblical truth. Students learn through demonstrations, guided practice, and independent creation while developing confidence, craftsmanship, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of their God-given creativity and purpose as artists.

Perfect! Working with Shawn was truly a pleasure! He's an experienced and competent teacher, able to break down difficult tasks into achievable steps. I had no previous experience with oil paints, but a great desire to paint portraits. In three lessons while I was in his area, Shawn gave me the knowledge and confidence to tackle oil portraits on my own in the future. I highly recommend this talented and capable gentleman!

Perfect! It was great but Shawn fell sick and had to cancel the last 2 lessons. We are departing the country so I am hoping he will refund the amount for the unused lessons. Thanks

Shawn was brilliant and kind! He led an incredible painting session with the children at the DCH, guiding them as they recreated Edward Munch’s the “Scream”. The kids were fully engaged and focused - each adding their own creative touch. They had such a great time that they want to do it again! Next up they want to do Vincent. An Goghs “Starry Night”. Thanks for a fun and educational day.

I had a desire to learn oil painting technique. I had a concept that I brought to Shawn and he helped me bring it to life. He asked the right questions and prompted when needed while instructing in specific techniques connected to styles/artists I was inspired by.. In the end, I had a piece of art I could be truly proud of! Shawn will continue to be my art instructor.
