It is with great pleasure that I am writing this recommendation for Naomi. This year, I had the privilege of teaching Naomi in my Honor Geometry course and coaching Naomi in our Math Team. During this time, I have come to know Naomi as a role model for her peers and a strong student who was very much involved in her work applying herself with dedication and persistence. Naomi is extremely well prepared for your community and I strongly expect her to succeed in her future endeavors especially in providing Math help to others.
Naomi is a sharp, quick-minded individual that showed an eagerness and willingness to learn. Due to her intellectual abilities and high aptitude for math, I could count on Naomi being a leader of an exceptionally capable class. Whenever I assigned groups, Naomi was always assigned as a group leader because I was confident that she could answer questions coming from her classmates. In her answers to questions, Naomi did not merely state the answer instead she offered explanations that showcased a high conceptual knowledge of the topic. Naomi, furthermore, showcased her aptitude for Math by placing 5th overall in the state's Algebra 1 competition and by helping the 8 person frosh/soph team win the state championship in that competition.
Naomi's personal attributes are as equally impressive as her intellectual attributes. She is an outgoing, cheerful person that has no difficulty in creating conversations with others, a strength for group work. These qualities also helped her when she helped in our math department's study tables. At the study tables, strong students like Naomi are tasked with tutoring struggling students. Aside from her cheerful presence, she possesses a strong work ethic. On the rare occasion when she ran into difficulty with a concept, she would seek me out for further assistance on the topic. During these times, she would not be satisfied until she had a full understanding of the concept.
Naomi has my highest recommendation for admission to your program. Getting to know her, I am certain she will meet the rigor and challenges of your program.
