About Somi
I am a committed flute tutor with 12 years of experience, having trained around 150 students successfully. I enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them develop their musical abilities step by step. My teaching style focuses on clear communication, patience, and adaptability, ensuring that each student learns at their own pace.
I focus on strong fundamentals such as breathing techniques, fingering, tone clarity, and rhythm, which are essential for building confidence and skill. I make my classes engaging by including exercises, songs, and creative techniques that keep students interested.
I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving steadily. My unique skill is simplifying complex concepts and making learning easy to understand.
I also guide students in basic music theory and effective practice habits. My aim is to make flute learning enjoyable and rewarding.

My approach to teaching flute combines adaptation, flexibility, collaboration, and positivity to create a balanced and engaging learning experience. I begin by understanding the student’s level and learning style, then design lessons that suit their pace and interests.
I emphasise building strong fundamentals such as breath control, tone production, and finger technique, which are essential for confident playing. I remain flexible in my teaching, modifying lessons based on the student’s progress. Collaboration is encouraged through active participation and interactive exercises.
I create a positive and motivating environment where students feel supported. I also include music theory and rhythm training to help students develop a complete understanding of music.
