About Carmen
Hola, ¿qué tal?
I am Carmen. I am a Spanish native tutor from Huelva, a southern city in Spain.
I graduated in Teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) from the University of Bath in 2017 and since then I have been teaching English and Spanish.
Firstly, I ran a Spanish course for beginners in the Bath College for over ten weeks in 2018. I created and combined resources and materials according to my students level and needs.
Then, I completed a Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish (PGCE) where I learnt how to teach in a more academic level. I taught in state school´s in the UK and also private tuition (UK and Australia).

With my Spanish lessons, you'll be able to learn in a fun, relaxed environment that engages you and keeps you interested.
My first step is to learn your level of Spanish, the areas you want to improve (vocabulary, writing, fluency, pronunciation), and your main objectives (informal conversation, business, public speaking) so that I can tailor a curriculum to your needs.
Having been an English student myself, I felt that teachers focused mostly on grammar, which led me to have a negative attitude towards the language. I believe the best way to learn a language is by practicing it, which is why I offer a wide range of music, videos, dialogues, and articles to make learning easier.
Therefore, I try to incorporate a more conversational and contextual approach into our lessons. I am, however, willing to discuss and incorporate your personal preferences into the lesson plans.
