About Polina

I am currently an Early Stage Researcher (PhD) at Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), where I continue my work in a research-driven academic environment.

I hold an MSc in Chemistry and have completed research training in France also for 2 years, where I worked with complex chemical reactions and advanced topics in a professional scientific environment. I am accustomed to dealing with challenging material, multi-step reaction systems, and rigorous analytical reasoning. I also take part in large competitive grant programs, which require discipline, precision, and a deep understanding of chemistry.

When I work with a student, I invite them to become my student in the classical sense: someone who is willing to think, ask questions, and engage seriously with the subject. I do not teach chemistry as a set of formulas to memorize. Instead, I focus on developing chemical thinking, methodological clarity, and the ability to reason independently.

I demonstrate chemical techniques clearly, explain how chemistry functions in real research and real life, and expect intellectual honesty and effort in return. This approach is best suited for students who want to understand chemistry deeply and are ready for focused, thoughtful work.

About the lesson

I am a chemistry tutor with a strong academic background and research-oriented training. My teaching approach is structured, analytical, and focused on deep understanding rather than memorization. I first identify conceptual gaps, then build a clear logical path from fundamental principles to more advanced topics. Lessons are structured yet flexible, leaving room for questions, discussion, and clarification. Whenever possible, I clearly demonstrate chemical techniques and methods, explaining how reactions, calculations, and analytical steps are performed in practice. This helps students connect theory with real procedures used in chemistry. I focus on developing: chemical thinking and logical reasoning; understanding of reactions, mechanisms, and calculations; the ability to apply concepts rather than memorize formulas; confidence in solving unfamiliar problems independently; I place strong emphasis on real-life and practical applications of chemistry, showing how abstract concepts appear in laboratory work, industry, medicine, materials science, and everyday contexts. What sets me apart is my ability to clearly demonstrate chemical techniques, connect theory to real-world applications, and explain complex ideas in a structured and accessible way. My research background allows me to teach chemistry as a living, applied science rather than a collection of isolated rules. I work seriously, calmly, and with intellectual respect for each student, helping them build long-term understanding and confidence in chemistry.
