About Sydney
I am a Sophomore computer science student from Howard University by way of Baltimore and I have 1 year of experience in tutoring high school students. Being a student tutor helps me because I'm able to be on both sides. I am teaching, and I am being taught. I know what ways really helped me to absorb information and I look to pass it forward. I'm a positive and patient tutor that aims to teach the process of problem solving so that eventually you can solve the problems on your own. I like for the student to walk through problems as slow as necessary and together we can find out why they are stuck and how they can get un-stuck. Developing students problem solving skills will help them to be able to solve a wider variety of problems because they will know why they get certain answers and how to come to them on their own. I specialize in algebra but I'm open to any high school level math. For computer science, I have experience in a wide variety of languages as well as general classes like intro to computer science, or computer science A.
