About Sara

In GCSE I achieved an A* in English Literature and am currently working at a first class degree. I would like to begin teaching as a result of my interest in being a full time teacher. This app allows me to work out my hours and gain experience with working with students.

A big part of the motivations I have for teaching emerge out of my own struggle and experience. If I can help somebody feel just that bit better about sitting an exam, doing coursework or examining a play then this would all be worthwhile. I keep my fees cheap but that does not reflect the quality of my lessons. I have PowerPoints, workshop exercises, opportunities for you to submit your work and receive feedback as well as contemporary knowledge about my subject area due to my current studies. Lessons with me are low pressure but always packed with the opportunity of academic advancement.

About the lesson

Come and zoom me for sessions lasting up to 30 minutes to an hour!

Tell me about yourself and how you would like to use this time. I will be able to guide your studies into a direction that improves your grades and confidence with reading Literature. I offer a 5 week basics course for creative writing and literature (both can be separate or intertwined) that is tailored personally to your learning plan. In this, you can choose up to two to three subjects (e.g. character / intersexuality) you want to learn about. I will research and respond to these interests using my own experience.

In literature, I will work with you on your texts. My prior experience at GCSE/ A Level are with WJEC and AQA exam boards. I am studying all kinds of literature at Swansea and have recently covered a whole module based on Shakespeare.

In creative writing, I have worked with experts at my university - real authors and guest writers who have lectured and taught me the standard of writing. Whether it’s help for a project, a stepping stone to a creative writing degree, or a one-to-one project discussing your own writing - I have experience and resources to help guide you.

Don’t be worried, I am a friendly face who wants to encourage the confidence of young students. I once felt anxious in classes, concerned if I was doing “the right thing”. Now I’m doing it as a degree in which I have got 70+ all year. If I can do it, so can you. Drop a message!
