About Suzanne

- What kind of experience do you have? I have 19 years' experience teaching languages in secondary schools. I am also an examiner for AQA and Edexcel. I have begun tutoring from home recently and find it very rewarding. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? I have a current CRB which you can see before I commence teaching. - Where and with whom did you train? My degree was gained at Hull University and my teaching qualification (PGCE) was completed at Sunderland University - Tell me about some of your current students. I am currently entering some private GCSE students and work with them on a weekly basis. I also have some A level pupils. Two of my recent pupils have just gained A's in their GCSE languages. One is going on to study Spanish at A level. I also teach adults who have properties in Spain, France or Portugal. I have also just finished a course of Spanish teaching at Lucite International at Wilton.

About the lesson

Hello, I take my tutoring business very seriously and would like to assure you that I will do the utmost to make your learning process as interesting and supportive as possible. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach French and Spanish from nursery up to A level. I have been an AQA and Edexcel examiner in both languages so I understand the criteria perfectly. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a joint honours degree in French and Spanish and gained a IIi. I also have a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages. - How much do you charge? I charge £31/hour for GCSE and adult lessons. This is the price for individual lessons. For group lessons the price will be agreed with the clients. Younger children may be taught in groups or individually and again, the price is agreed with the client. - Where do you teach? I usually teach at home or online but would be willing to travel for group lessons up to a distance of 15 miles so as far as Darlington or Nunthorpe, Hartlepool or Stokesley. - When are you available? I am available during the day and at weekends for lessons. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I teach all ages and levels up to A level in both French and Spanish and up to GCSE in Portuguese. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? GCSE and A level French and Spanish and GCSE Portuguese - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. I mainly teach online now, via zoom. - Do you have a personal message for students? I offer a welcoming and supportive environment in which to learn French or Spanish. I am sensitive to the needs of pupils and tailor programmes of study accordingly. I have a lot of experience in preparing for the GCSE and with my experience as an examiner I know exactly what is required for success. I also ensure that I use up-to-date methodology and always strive to produce stimulating, paced lessons. As a part-time teacher I am also able to access current ideas and new teaching methods.
