About Shehrez

Hi! My name is Shehrez, and I’m a graduate student who enjoys helping students gain confidence and clarity in Algebra.

I have a strong academic background and a passion for helping students succeed, especially those who may feel stuck or frustrated with math. Many students struggle with Algebra simply because the concepts were never explained in a way that truly made sense to them, and I enjoy helping students work through those challenges step by step.

Throughout my academic journey, I’ve developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and I enjoy sharing that knowledge in a way that is patient, clear, and supportive. I believe that when students understand the reasoning behind the math, they are able to approach problems with much more confidence.

As a tutor, I focus on creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students improve their performance in Algebra but also to help them feel more confident approaching math in the future.

I offer virtual tutoring for Algebra, Algebra 2, and College Algebra, and I’m always happy to adapt sessions to each student’s learning style and goals.

About the lesson

My Approach as a Tutor

Many students struggle with Algebra not because they can’t do math, but because the concepts were never explained in a way that truly made sense to them. My goal as a tutor is to help students break through that frustration by explaining Algebra step-by-step in a clear and supportive way.

I focus on helping students understand the logic behind the math, rather than simply memorizing formulas. When students understand why each step works, they become much more confident solving problems on their own.

Typical Lesson Structure

A typical tutoring session includes:

• Reviewing homework problems or topics the student finds confusing
• Breaking down key concepts into simple, manageable steps
• Working through practice problems together
• Giving students the opportunity to solve problems independently with guidance

This structure helps students strengthen their understanding while also building confidence and problem-solving skills.

What Sets Me Apart

Students often come to tutoring feeling frustrated or discouraged with math. My approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students feel comfortable asking questions. I take the time to explain concepts in different ways until they click, and I work at the student’s pace so they can truly understand the material.

Who I Work With

I provide tutoring for students taking:

• Algebra
• Algebra 2
• College Algebra

My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, and college students who need help with homework, preparing for tests, or strengthening their understanding of Algebra concepts.

All sessions are conducted virtually using Zoom and a digital whiteboard, allowing students to follow along and actively participate throughout the lesson.
