About Charlotte
Friendly, patient and enthusiastic about education in all forms. I have worked with adults and children with a range of needs for many years. I first started as a peer mentor for some of the SEN students at my secondary school and my passion for supporting people carried on from there. Growing up with family members and friends who have traits of ADHD and ASD I quickly developed an empathy and understanding of neurodivergent people and the struggles they face especially when their strengths are commonly missed within the traditional education system. Often within traditional schooling neurodivergent children and young people feel like they are skydiving alongside their peers just without being provided the parachute. When given the proper "tools" such as support, understanding and the ability to learn in a way that works for them I am confident that I can support students to thrive.

Supporting others to become more confident and independent by developing their skills and understanding is my passion. When you are neurodiverse often people focus on what you can't do and often discount those Neurodiverse individuals as unable to learn. This can be a real knock to their confidence and can often lead to a disengagement from education. I strongly believe that learning is for everyone not just those who excel at academics. Everyone has a different style of learning as well as different strengths. When I work with a student, together we find these strengths and ensure that their tutoring plays to these strengths and that specific support can be given to those areas they may struggle with. I will begin by getting to know the students goals, if there are any areas or subjects in particular they want to focus on and how they tend to learn best (e.g. shorter sessions, visual aids etc.) with this information I then craft sessions that will play to the student's strengths and allow them to have the best possible experience

Charlotte was such a huge help with my uni work. She's patient, knowledgeable and super understanding. My schedule is absolutely bonkers busy between placement, work and lectures but Charlotte was able to fully accommodate me when I was free. I struggled a lot with the coursework especially the jargon but Charlotte was able to help me break it down into terms I could wrap my head around. She's the best
Charlotte has been nothing but supportive when helping my son. He has ADHD (with emphasis on the hyperactivity part) He has always struggled to sit for long periods at school, he has been told off for being disruptive and "unwilling to learn". Somehow since Charlotte's tutoring has started he's wanting to learn, he looks forward to his lessons and Charlotte has been ever so accommodating of my son's needs, she has allowed him to do shorter sessions, recommended fidget and sensory items for him to use in the sessions as well as when he's feeling anxious. She is a star!!
