About Waqas
Having worked across Child Protection, Adult Social Care, and Community Mental Health (CMHT), I have seen how difficult it can be to apply complex theories to real-life situations.
I want to help you bridge the gap between your studies and the frontline.
My goal is to provide you with the systemic and trauma-informed tools I have used to manage risk across both child and adult services.
By sharing what I have learnt about Motivational Interviewing and relationship-based practice, I can help you build the skills and confidence needed to achieve meaningful outcomes for the people you support."

I provide online support for Student Social Workers and NQSWs, bridging the gap between theory and frontline practice in Child Protection and Mental Health.
Motivational Interviewing (MI): Learn practical techniques to handle ambivalence and build collaboration with service users. I teach the "spirit of MI" to improve engagement and support positive change.
Trauma-Informed Practice: Shift your perspective to understand the impact of past trauma on current behaviour. I’ll help you apply trauma-informed principles to your assessments and interventions.
Holistic Risk Management: Drawing on my CMHT and Safeguarding experience, I teach how to assess risk across the lifespan, identifying intergenerational patterns and building on family strengths.
Systemic Theory in Action: Move beyond individual issues to see the "whole system." I help you apply relationship-based approaches to create sustainable, lasting outcomes for families and adults.
