About Rory

For the past 16+ years, I have dedicated myself to teaching Spanish to High School and College students through personalised and student-centred instruction. I understand that no two students learn in exactly the same way, so I create customised lesson plans that support each learner's strengths while improving weaker areas. My objective is to make Spanish simple, enjoyable, and useful for every student.

My teaching includes grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, and practical conversation. Every lesson combines structured explanations with engaging activities that encourage students to communicate confidently. I use real-life examples, interactive exercises, and meaningful conversations to help students remember what they learn and apply it naturally.

I believe patience and encouragement are essential qualities for a successful tutor. I create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and practising without hesitation. Regular progress reviews allow me to identify areas for improvement and modify lessons according to each student's development.

Another important part of my teaching is introducing students to the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Understanding traditions, customs, and everyday expressions helps learners connect with the language in a more meaningful way. This cultural awareness also strengthens communication skills and builds greater confidence.

My commitment to personalised learning ensures that every student receives the attention, support, and motivation needed to achieve success. Whether the goal is better grades, stronger communication, or future opportunities, I work closely with every learner to help them reach their full potential.

About the lesson

My Spanish teaching methodology is based on motivation, communication, creativity, and effective time management to ensure every student learns efficiently. I keep students motivated by understanding their goals, celebrating small achievements, and creating a positive, encouraging environment where they feel confident to participate.

Communication is central to my approach; I provide plenty of opportunities to speak, listen, read, and write Spanish in practical and meaningful ways. Creativity is integrated into every lesson through storytelling, role-plays, games, and visual exercises, which make learning engaging, memorable, and fun.

Time management ensures that each session is well-structured, covering grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation practice without overwhelming students. I also guide learners on organising their study and practice time outside class to maintain consistency. In addition to Spanish, I can teach related subjects such as grammar basics, pronunciation, and learning strategies.

My aim is to make Spanish learning simple, structured, enjoyable, and confidence-building for students at all levels.
