About Emily
I have been gigging professionally as an oboe player for four years and I am in my first year as a Music Therapy student in the oboe studio at UGA. I am a returning member of the Redcoat band, in which I play piccolo. I have a combined experience on oboe and flute of 13 years. I’ve played with the Lakeside High School Wind Ensemble under Mr. Jared Best and Mr. Jim Tau, the Youth Orchestra of Greater Augusta under Mr. Ryan Kho, the Augusta University Wind Conservatory under Mr. Todd Jenkins and Dr. Michael Katterjohn, and the University of Georgia Wind Symphony under Dr. Shiree Williams. I am a personal student of Dr. Reid Messich, Associate Professor of Oboe at UGA, who is highly sought after for appearances in ensembles such as the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Iris Orchestra, and Hilton Head Symphonic Orchestra, in addition to his residencies at various summer festivals.

Hey there! My name is Emily Grabowski and I am a music student at the University of Georgia at Athens. I am taking on students for the summer in both oboe and flute/piccolo. My focus will be on the overall improvement of technique in a highly individualized and personal way. For oboe, I will take students up to 10th grade and for flute/piccolo, I will take students up to (rising) 8h grade. No materials will need to be purchased, but I will expect practice and preparation week to week in the interest of personal improvement. I’m so excited to meet you!
