About Liana

Hi there! My name is Liana, and I’m excited to be your tutor. With a background in Family Studies (mixing psychology, human development, and sociology), a minor in Art Education, and a Master's degree in Psychology, I bring a broad understanding of how people learn and grow. I’m currently working toward my PPS credential in school counseling, which allows me to provide not only academic support but also social-emotional guidance to help students thrive in all aspects of life.

About the lesson

I believe I would be a great fit to teach a variety of subjects due to my strong academic background, diverse teaching skills, and passion for fostering holistic student development. My degree in Family Studies, with a focus on psychology, human development, and sociology, provides me with a well-rounded understanding of how people learn and grow. This helps me approach teaching with an emphasis on tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they not only understand the content but also feel supported in their learning journey.

In addition to this, my minor in Art Education has equipped me with the ability to plan lessons that are both engaging and adaptable. I know how to break down complex concepts and present them in ways that are creative and accessible. This is particularly useful in subjects like social studies, where connecting abstract ideas to real-world applications can make the material more relatable and interesting.

With my Master’s degree in Psychology, I have a deeper understanding of cognitive processes, motivation, and behavior, which directly translates to how I approach teaching. I can help students not only learn but also understand their own learning processes, build confidence, and develop strategies to manage challenges.
