About Dermot
I am a qualified PE and biology teacher. I'm currently based in Galway, doing a master's in exercise physiology and its application in therapy. I got into teaching because I was inspired by a couple of excellent teachers whom I was lucky to have in my own school days (biology, history and geography, to name a few). They had a very positive impact on me as a young person. It made me want to give some of that back someday.
Aside from my interest in all things sports and biology-related, I like to listen to music, read and travel when I can.

Student-centered approach to lessons. I would like to know what your goal is, what topics you need support with and what kind of learner you are. Are you a visual, auditory, reading or kinesthetic (learn by doing) learner? This information will be used to design appropriate lessons including relevant resources for the student. Classes will last 45 minutes and can be tailored for primary, secondary or 3rd level students.
*For 3rd level students: my primary areas of study are cell biology and physiology. My knowledge of plant biology is sufficient for leaving cert, but more limited when it comes to 3rd level.
